Kenyan agency plans big cold chain facility in East Africa

A leading Kenyan warehouse and logistics service provider Cold Solutions, says it’ll invest USD 70 million to assemble the most important cold chain facility in East Africa to address challenges that face transportation of perishable goods.
Fast ’s 15,000 sqm flagship facility in Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Nairobi will be the largest, most superior and efficient within the region. The cold chain facility is flexibly designed to cater for quite a few temperature ranges from +26 to -40 C and a quantity of product ranges, from contemporary fruit and vegetables, to prescription drugs and vaccines, meats and poultry, and frozen meals.
Cold Solutions Kenya is a portfolio company of ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, a non-public fairness fund suggested by ARCH Emerging Markets Partners Limited (ARCH).
“Cold Solutions’ one-stop-shops are designed to permit companies to maintain monitor of products in real-time and facilitate transportation across East Africa through temperature-controlled vehicles, both throughout the inside metropolis or to long-haul locations,” said Jared Irving, Managing Director, ARCH.
